When applying to university last year one of the main things that drew me to Keele was the Study Abroad programme the University has to offer. Straight away I was planning my semester abroad and was super excited long before I even got my A-Level results. Now the time has actually arrived for flight booking and best of all... shopping (all necessary of course)
Anyway, my name is Sophie Bugden and I’m and undergraduate at Keele studying Music. I’m 19 years old and in September I will officially be a student at Brock University, Ontario, Canada! (need to snap out of the habit of calling it ‘Canadia’ though)! I chose Brock mainly for its location on the Niagara peninsular; surrounded by Niagara Falls, numerous ski resorts, and close enough to places in the States like New York City and Chicago. Being able to study abroad is just such an amazing opportunity it would just be tragic if I didn’t take it. I mean, living and learning in a country so far away from home, I must make sure I study my hardest in order to get the best grades to return home with – not to mention seeing the world and taking advantage of all the fun I’m going to have J
My first year at Keele was unforgettable, the people I met will now be friends for life, I can only hope that this will repeat itself during my semester abroad in Canada. So hopefully you will join me and read this blog as I stumble through 4 months of attempting life away from home!
Speak soon, Soph x
